Hatred by the majority, loved by the best.
That's how Simon Cowell should feel after Anthony Hopkins' statement for the MTV crew present at this year's Oscars. On his brief interview given to the music channel, the 71 year-old actor said he would definitely love to play American Idol's Simon Cowell in a movie and that he is a huge fan of the singing competition.
“Simon is my favorite because he’s so brutally honest,” Hopkins told MTV. “There’s no political correctness with him. He says it how it is. How very contrary.”
The news was heard by Cowell's spokesperson, Max Clifford, Who told Western Mail that: “Knowing what an incredible actor Tony Hopkins is, I’m sure he’d do a great job, particularly in bringing out the much softer side to Simon that many of us don’t get to see.”
What softer side? For many who had watched all eighth seasons, Cowell remained an boundless source of sarcasm and arrogance, but probably it will take us more than a life time to dig him out. Sir Anthony Hopkins just got lucky.
