After all kind of speculations about Paula Abdul being on or off for the new ‘American Idol’ season, we found about that Abdul confirmed that she will no longer appear in the show.

“With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return to 'Idol'. I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day one become an international phenomenon”, she wrote on her Twitter page.

Adding then that ''What I want to say most, is how much I appreciate the undying support and enormous love that you have showered upon me. I do, without any doubt, have the BEST fans in the entire world and I love you all.”

47 years old singer, due to come back as judge in the ninth season in two days, refused the job giving no reason. Her representative also made no statement. About that, Fox Tv made the following statement: “Paula Abdul has been an important part of the 'American Idol' family over the last eight seasons and we are saddened that she has decided not to return to the show. While Paula will not be continuing with us, she’s a tremendous talent and we wish her the best.''

So there will be only three judges for the ninth season: Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi, who was just confirmed to be returning.

The auditions for ’American Idol’ start on Thursday in Denver and the show returns on the air in January.
