Patrick Swayze fights pneumonia

Patrick Swayze's words in the interview given to Barbara Walters, last Wednesday, "You can bet that I'm going through hell. And I've only seen the beginning of it," unveiled their meaning this Friday. At the Television Critics Association's press event that took place in Los Angeles, A&E president Abbe Raven revealed that Patrick Swayze had to be hospitalyzed owing to a sever pneumonia. "Patrick Swayze has checked himself into the hospital. However, he asked us specifically to go forward with today's panel. We wish him the very best with his recovery."
The Dirty Dancing character, now 56, was working on his new project The Beast that will be airing Monday on A&E. He supposed to talk about his new show, but couldn't make it after checking himself this morning into the hospital.
All Patrick's colleagues that were present at the TCA event wished him all the the best and spoke very passionately about the actor's strenght fighting cancer.
"[He's] been an absolute inspiration, he's an amazing guy.He makes the little things seem not important." said costar Travis Fimmel.

Bill Rotko, author of The Beast, said: "Although you forget sometimes that Patrick's going through treatment for cancer, it brings you very close together. There's a tremendous amount of respect going on."

John Romano, starring in The Beast beside Swayze, added : "He's bringing the force of his own personal struggle into the performance. He does it five days a week, 12 hours a day."
