He was almost every body's idol when he swept off the world swimming record. We are talking about Michael Phelps, the Olympic champion. But once he saw him self a winner he had a moment of weakness during a party when he was photographed smoking pot. After that a shadow covered his image.

In order to get rid of this bad image he gave an interview where he admits that what he did was “bad judgement” and “a mistake.” “It was– really, you know, the people I hurt, you know, is my family, clearly. My friends,” he says. “The close people around me. And most importantly, the fans.”, declared the champion.

He also said that he was surprised to see the photos because the party where he smoked marijuana was a very small one and mostly with people that he thought they were his friends. It seems though that the famous swimmer has also enemies or just „friends” that envie him.

Asked if he’s upset about his image, he said that all he cares about is not hurting people that love him and that the last thing he cares about in this case are money. “It’s not about money to me. So, you know, the–the contract side of things, yeah, I was disappointed.”
