Recently Miss California contestant Carrie Prejean’s grandmother Jeanette Coppolla confirmed to RadarOnline.com that her granddaughter is dating Olympian Michael Phelps. She didn’t mentioned the type of relationship that the two young people have, but from her words you could understand that Phelps is interested in the beautiful girl. “Carrie and Michael have been out to baseball games and lunch. He always calls her when he is in town and they go out.” I mean why don’t smoke marijuana as he used to instead of calling her if they weren't together?

But here there is what HE says about all this. Well, Phelps is denying rumors that he is involved into a romantic relationship with Prejean. "I'm not dating anybody. I'm single. My private life stays private", he declared to Usmagazine.com at the opening of the Omega flagship boutique in New York.

Concerning Prejean’s anti gay marriage opinion, Phelps declared: "That's the cool thing about America - everybody has their opinion. Not saying I support her. I'm not saying I don't support her."

Call me as too rational, but his declaration doesn’t sound at all like coming from a man who’s in love. So I would not trust what Carrie’s grandmother said about they being together. After all, grandmothers always want to see their granddaughters getting married. So…who knows what will be?
