Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, and Rob Trujillo of Metallica have a new album coming out on September 12 and the music is definitely going to be different. These days, the heavy metal rockers are all fathers and so Metallica's lyrics won't be about the fast rocking times any more. Instead, family is the new fuel for their music.
Lars' 10-yr-old son, Myles, loves Guitar Hero. "He's digging on Sabbath and Deep Purple and all the music I loved as a kid," says Lars, who is also a father to 7-yr-old Layne with ex-wife Skylar Satenstein, and 15-mos-old Bryce Thadeius with his girlfriend, Connie Nielsen.
James Hetfield has daughters Cali Tee, 10, and Marcella Francesca, 6...plus an 8-yr-old son, Castor, with his wife, Francesca. Kirk Hammett has two sons, Angel Ray (22 mos) and Vincenzo Kainalu (9 weeks) with his wife Lani. And Rob Trujillo has a 2-yr-old son, Tai Orion, and baby daughter, Lula, with his wife Chloe.
Wonder if they're covering "Row, Row, Row Your Boat?" The name of their new album is called "Death Magnetic."
