I feel Joe Simpson's pain - having two daughters and trying to give them equal attention is hard work. I usually resort to letting mine arm wrestle to vie for my time - winner gets a hug from mom!  But Joe might want to stop cooing over daughter Ashlee's new baby Bronx for a few moments and give firstborn Jessica a little TLC. Because while daddy was busy negotiating $2 million photo ops for his first grandchild,  his oldest daughter's career is going down the tubes.

OK! Magazine is reporting that Jessica has resorted to playing venues usually reserved for retired folk bands and ex-members of Kevin Federline's dance troupe. On November 13 she reportedly performed at the 2,500-capacity San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino in Highland, Calif., where an insider reported that “Jessica’s dressing room at the bingo hall was a little larger than a broom closet.  There’s an iron, but no ironing board. There’s not even a fridge!”

Now, there's no shame in playing Bingo - in fact, I've joined the fannie-pack and visor crowd and taken up The Game myself.  But this is a far cry from the more glamorous venues that Jessica used to perform in, back when her album In This Skin sold 7 million copies.

So, don't play favorites, Joe, and go out and get Jess some decent gigs.  Little Bronx Mowgli will still be ready for his close-up when you get back.
