Jennifer Lopez opened up and talked recently about the health issues her daughter Emme had when she was only a few weeks old. One night, the singer and her husband, Marc Anthony discovered a lump on Emme’s head. At the beginning they thought is was just a normal lamp that all kids have. “We both got very nervous, very very nervous, and I just remember my heart sinking to my feet. I looked at [Marc] and I said, ‘You know if anything happens, I’m not going to be OK, you know that, right?’”the singer recalled at gala benefit for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

But in the end they went to the hospital and found out that the lamp was not normal and the little girl needed an MRI. Luckily everything was resolved. Emme was only three months back then.

Jennifer Lopez declared all this while promoting her involvement with the Mirabel Foundation, an organization devoted to providing pediatric medical services to the less fortunate. Jennifer said that she joined forces with CHLA to form the Maribel Foundation because she thought about the scare she had with her daughter and how lucky she felt went things went well. “I started to wonder,” Lopez said, “what if I couldn’t afford a doctor or receive the medicines, the procedures?”

At the gala, Jennifer sang a new song she wrote for her twins. Here there are a few lines of it: “Let’s keep this time for us and make it last as long as we can. It’s already going too fast.”
