The Heroes co-stars Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia put an end to their out-screen romance, UsMagazine learned. Hayden, 19, who plays Claire Bennet on the hit US series, and 31-year-old Milo, who stars as Peter Petrelli, are said to have split in the last week.

A source explained the broke up was mostly the result of the age difference which lead to dissimilar ways in perceiving life. “It was a lifestyle conflict. They were in very different places.” The insider also added “They are still on friendly terms. There are no hard feelings.”

"[Hayden] is young," continued the close pal to the couple. "She likes to go out in the Hollywood scene and that's not his style. [Milo] has been concentrating on work on his production company [Divide Pictures]."

The two started dating in secret in 2008, but Panettiere was spotted a few weeks ago flirting around with Jesse McCarthy, that's when the split rumours began to circulate.
