Charlize Theron contracted a violent stomach virus

According to The National Enquirer, Charlize Theron spent four nights in a Los Angeles hospital. The Academy Award winner actress contracted a violent stomach virus last week and needed to be hospitalized. The actress was put under medical observation after she began suffering severe abdominal pains.

She was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center by her boyfriend Stuart Townsend. There she was diagnosed with a potentially fatal stomach virus. Theron might have contracted the virus while being outside the country.

“I was scared to death. I had no idea what was happening to her, but this is a woman who never complains, so I knew it had to be serious,” her boyfriend told some friends.

Luckily, Theron responded well to antibiotics and later she was released.
