Recently Sony Pictures canceled the $50-million Brad Pitt movie ’Moneyball’. It was only a few days before starting to shot it. But it turns out that now the studio makes efforts to eventually start the work.
According to The New York Times, Aaron Sorkin needed to change a little bit the script (since that was one of the major problems). Also Sony wants to bring Oscar-winning producer Scott Rudin to the movie's creative team. New director will be hired, while Brad Pitt will maintain his role.
The movie's script is based on Michael Lewis's nonfiction book about the Oakland Athletics and their general manager Billy Beane, who succeeded to gather a star Major League team despite their financial issues.
The movie's original script was by ’Ocean'’s series director Steven Soderbergh and screenwriter Steven Zaillian.
The 'Moneyball' will start to be filmed this fall.
