Jimmy Kimmel He's perhaps most well known as the host of his own late-night talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, although Jimmy Kimmel or James Christian Kimmel has worked as a talk-show host as well as a comedian in many other venues and capacities.The friendly and personable funnyman was born on November 13, 1967, in New York, but mostly grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada.Kimmel studied at the University of Nevada and the Arizona State University, and while in Arizona, he got his introduction to show business working in radio as a radio character with his friend and colleague Kent Voss. Kimmel ended up working for several radio stations around the country including Seattle; Tampa Bay; Palm Springs, where Carson Daly became his intern; and Tucson until he landed a steady and lengthy gig on L.A.'s KROQ morning talk show, Kevin and Bean, where he became Jimmy the Sports Guy.Moving out of radio and into television came in 1997 when Kimmel co-starred alongside Ben Stein in a comedic role on Win Ben Stein's Money, a popular game show on Comedy Central station that garnered the comic duo an Emmy Award for Best Game Show Host.Kimmel also co-created and co-hosted The Man Show on the same station in 1999, along with Adam Carolla and Daniel Kellison, and by 2001, he had left Win Ben Stein's Money and was replaced by Nancy Pimental, a comedienne and a writer of South Park and the film The Sweetest Thing, starring Cameron Diaz, Christina Applegate, and Selma Blair.But by early 2003, Kimmel left The Man Show for Jimmy Kimmel Live, his very own late-night talk show, which is still going strong today.Kimmel produced and created various TV shows with his tag team of Carolla and Kellison, under Jackhole Industries, including Crank Yankers and The Andy Milonakis Show, and he has appeared a number of times on other popular talk shows such as Live with Regis and Kelly, with Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa; Ellen DeGeneres's The Ellen DeGeneres Show; the Late Show with David Letterman; and Howard Stern.Ever the popular and highly sought-after host, Jimmy has thrice hosted the American Music Awards, was for four years the on-air football prognosticator for FOX NFL Sunday, and was the official emcee for Pamela Anderson and Hugh Hefner's Comedy Central roasts.Kimmel is also known for producing and co-writing Windy City Heat, a feature film premiering at Montreal's Comedy Festival in October 2003 and ultimately winning the Comedia Award for Best Film.Kimmel is also the host of ABC's new game show, Set For Life. He is currently dating high-profile, often controversial, stand-up comedienne Sarah Silverman.
