Torrie Wilson is a professional wrestler, fitness model, and sometime actress who has campaigned to show young women that they don't need to diet to look good.Victoria Anne Wilson was born on July 24, 1975, in Boise, Idaho. Her parents divorced when she was young and she moved to the nearby town of McCall. The stress of all this left her painfully shy, but she was nonetheless enthusiastic about life at her new school, especially physical activities like sports and cheerleading. She was good at dance and demonstrated a flair for track and field events. She was also interested in modeling, a potential career path that her mother supported, but when she approached an agency they told her she would have to lose weight. This led her to a four year battle with bulimia. When she was subsequently offered modeling work she turned it down because she was afraid that the pressure would lead to the return of her eating disorder.Seeking to find a healthier alternative, Wilson embarked on a grueling fitness regime which focused on developing her natural muscularity. This led to modeling work in areas other than the mainstream fashion industry, and in 1988 she won the title of Ms. Galaxy Florida. She then moved to Los Angeles to try her luck as an actress, winning several small roles in such shows as Baywatch, with David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson; but it was her physique that stood out and that drew the attention of World Championship Wrestling gurus Kevin Nash and Scott Steiner. She d buted as a valet for David Flair and helped him beat Dean Malenko to win the U.S. Championship. This led to her becoming involved with Billy Kidman (aka Peter Gruner) and the Filthy Animals team, and later with the New Blood faction. Her career was complicated by feuding with Kidman and a possible affair with his rival Shane Douglas. As a result, there were several periods when she had to step out of the public eye, but she managed to retain her popularity.In 2001, Wilson switched to wrestling with the WWF. There she joined the Alliance and worked with Stacy Keibler until she found herself managing Tajiri. She would later move to SmackDown! and manage Billy Gunn and Carlito.In 2003, Wilson broke her own rules by posing nude for Playboy. This led to a feud with fellow wrestler and model Sable, but the two were ultimately reconciled and posed together for the same magazine. Wilson had already attracted a substantial following by appearing in bikini wrestling matches and matches which involved stripping down to her underwear. She was also involved in pillow fight contests and she has been known to wrestle in an evening gown. Despite all this, she takes her fitness work seriously and continues to appear in fitness magazines, aspiring to be a role model for young women at risk from eating disorders.In 2003 Wilson married Kidman, but the relationship was a tumultuous one and they are now going through a divorce. She is now in a relationship with Nick Mitch Mitchell. Her other companion is her little dog Chloe, who has made several appearances alongside her in the wrestling arena and has proven to be a favorite with fans.
