Casey Dienel Biography

Singer/songwriter Casey Dienel made her professional debut in 2005 at age 20. Dienel’s theatrical presentation is both sophisticated and quirky, matching the likes of Cat Power, Joanna Newsom, and Rufus Wainwright. She spent her childhood writing songs while living in a fishing community in suburban Massachusetts. As a teenager, she moved to Boston to attend the New England Conservatory. It was a toss-up between studying opera and classical composition; however, Dienel chose to write pop songs instead. Wind-Up Canary marked her debut release in early 2006.
