The mother of a two year old boy, and an ex- rock chick, Bomer spent 1986 until 1990 living in Boston, Mass, where hanging out and seeing bands essentially constituted her college career. Sinead O’Connor, with the Smiths as her band, made the hair on the back of her neck stand up; sitting on the stage in front of Bjork, when still in The Sugarcubes, did the same. Watching Soundgarden open up for The Voidoids, and slamming around to Kelly Deal singing “Gigantic” in The Pixies, were equally important moments and continued to form her opinion that music matters. After graduating from Boston University, she moved to New York, where she still lives, and still gets out, although not as often. She’s a regular contributor to Feed and Word magazines, where she’s written on such topics as Liz Phair, Roe v. Wade and masturbation.
