Glen Sansone Biography

Glen Sansone Photo

Native New Yorker Glen Sansone is currently the Managing Director of CMJ, which publishes the leading alternative trade magazine CMJ New Music Report. In his ten years at the company, Sansone has written columns for CMJ New Music Report and its consumer-oriented sister publication, CMJ New Music Monthly, covering genres such as hip-hop, R&B, soul, acid jazz and adult-alternative, as well as enough rock to build a house. He was also Editorial Producer of CMJ New Music Now, an online new music Web site created for the Microsoft Network. His career high points, so far, were interviewing Tanya Donelly and meeting Elvis Costello and Sarah McLachlan, and his low points were telling Jellyfish’s Andy Sturmer that “anyone can be famous in Japan,” and being physically threatened by Das EFX. The first concert he attended was the Clash/The Who at Shea Stadium in 1982. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at glens@cmj.com.
