Charles S. Wolfe Biography

Charles S. Wolfe is an expert on folk and country music. He has produced and annotated over 50 albums and has been nominated for Grammy awards three times. He is the author of Grand Old Opry: The Early Years; Tennessee Strings; The Illustrated History of Country Music; Kentucky Country: Folk and Country Music of Kentucky; Everybody’s Grandpa; and a contributor to the Grove Dictionary of American Music; Encyclopedia of Southern Music; and Country: The Music and the Musicians. He is a freelance writer for American Music, The Journal of Country Music, Pop Music Yearbook, Country Music Magazine, Bluegrass Unlimited, and is associated with the Tennessee Folklore Society., All Music Guide
