The Bubbles Biography

The Bubbles were lead by brothers Csar Ladeira and Renato Ladeira, sons of the radio man Csar Ladeira and actress Renata Fronzi. They recorded in 1966 the single “No Vou Cortar o Cabelo.” After they participated in the 1970 Guarapari Festival, they performed in London, England. Upon their return, they became A Bolha (with drummer Gustavo Schroeter, bassist Arnaldo Brando, and guitarist Pedro Lima) and were invited to backup Gal Costa in her psychedelic performances of that decade. Recruited by Raul Seixas (who was a producer then) for the recording of Leno’s Vida & Obra de Johnny McCartney in 1971, A Bolha only recorded their first individual album in 1973. In that decade, they also backed up Erasmo Carlos, while Brando became a member of Caetano Veloso’s band (and later founder of Hanoi-Hanoi) and Schroeter joined Raul Seixas’ group (and then Moraes Moreira’s, which became A Cor do Som). In the ’80s, Renato formed Herva Doce and Pedro Lima Tnel do Tempo, which has been successful since 1994 with annual performances at the Cavern Club in Liverpool, England.
