Airardus of Vezelay Biography

Airardus of Vezelay Photo

Airardus of Vizelay (also known as Viciliacensis) was more than likely a member of a Bendictine monastery who may have composed a conductus in two parts entitled “Annua gaudia.” Unfortunately sources are not clear as to whether he was a poet or musician. This lack of clarity is compounded when it is considered that information concerning Airardus is sparse and perhaps even false.
