Sarah Michelle Gellar She has been in the spotlight for most of her life and has literally done it all. From acting on the big screen, to modeling, to starring in a long-running television series, Sarah's career is a testament to her genuine talent and amazing versatility. Sarah Michelle Gellar was born on April 14th, 1977 in New York, New York. After being discovered by an agent when she was only four years old, she had her first role in the 1983 television movie An Invasion of Privacy. Gellar was educated at the Professional Children's School, and her classmates included notorious party-girl Tara Reid and Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin. Following her first on-screen appearance, Sarah appeared in commercials and won some small parts in several movies, but it was her starring role in the 1992 drama Swans Crossing that would truly launch her career. The show was short-lived, but Gellar would go on to appear in the long-running All My Children, receiving a Daytime Emmy Award for her efforts. She has appeared in the thrillers I Know What You Did Last Summer, and the popular Scream movies, as well as the family-friendly Scooby Doo flicks. No matter where her career takes her, she will probably always be known for her title role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This hit show ran an amazing seven seasons and saw Gellar performing her own stunts, confronting demons and killing monsters, all while still in high school. Since the show's finale in 2003, Gellar starred in the Japanese horror remake The Grudge and the Grudge 2, and it set to star in Alice. In addition to acting, Gellar is also a model for leading cosmetic company Maybelline, and has appeared on the cover of several high-profile magazines including Cosmopolitan. Sarah was once romantically linked to actor Jerry O Connell, who is now engaged to Rebecca Romijn. She met her current husband when they worked together on I Know What You Did Last Summer. Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. were married in September of 2001 in Mexico and notable among their guests were Shannen Doherty, the notorious actress who starred in Beverly Hills: 90201, and actress Lindsay Sloane, who was Gellar's maid of honor. Freddie Prinze Jr. is a successful actor who starred in the 1999 romantic comedy She's All That, and has also acted with his wife in a number of films. The couple is currently happily married.
