Brunette bombshell Marika Dominczyk was born on July 7 1980, in Kielce, Poland. When Dominczyk was three years old, her family moved from Poland to Brooklyn, New York . The family were expelled from their native country because of Dominczyk's father's involvement with Amnesty International and the Solidarity movement in Poland. Dominczyk discovered a penchant for acting at an early age, while tagging along to casting calls with her older sister, actress Dagmara Dominczy. Eventually Dominczyk hooked up with an agent of her own, and on his advice, studied acting for over three years before signing up for her first gig.Dominczyk's star in Hollywood began to rise during the new millennium. She starred in Eve Ensler's Necessary Targets, a drama chronicling the journey of two American women who travel to to help women refugees. She has also appeared on television series such as The $treet, also starring Jennie Garth; Witchblade, Bones, and Law Order: Special Victims Unit (which has also starred her sister, Dagmara) playing Tess Michner. In 2004, Dominczyk landed the role of Erika on North Shore alongside Shannen Doherty, a series about the exclusive Grand Waimea Hotel in Hawaii . In 2005, Dominczyk gained more recognition playing Lola on the now-cancelled NBC series Heist, about a team of Beverly Hills crooks. Dominczyk currently stars as Tyler Altamirano on family drama Brothers Sisters alongside Calista Flockhart, Balthazar Getty, and Sally Field.In 2005, Dominczyk made her big-screen debut playing Bernadette in the touching comedy The 40 Year Old Virgin, also starring Paul Rudd, Catherine Keener, and Steve Carell as the wide-eyed, virginal 40-year old in question. Most recently, Dominczyk completed production on The Orphan King, which also stars Bill Pullman, Chris Evans, and actress Alexis Bledel from Gilmore Girls fame.Other films which Dominczyk has starred in include Loren Marsh's black comedy Invitation to a Suicide (2004); as well as the 2001 film 3 AM, co-starring Michelle Rodriguez, Danny Glover, and is directed by Spike Lee protege, Lee Davis. The film, about the world of New York City cab drivers, features Dominczyk baring it all for a nude scene.In 2004, while playing the character of Anna the nanny on The Help alongside Mindy Cohn and Antonio Sabato Jr, Dominczyk met actor Scott Foley, star of the CBS sitcom The Unit and formerly of teen shows Felicity and Dawson's Creek. On November 6, 2006, Foley's publicist confirmed that the 34-year old actor, who was previously married to Jennifer Garner, had proposed to Dominczyk, his long-time girlfriend and former co-star.
